Sustainability
Creating in Relationship With Nature
Nature-driven rituals
Nature is not simply where our ingredients come from.
It is where everything begins.
The forests, meadows, gardens, and wild landscapes that inspire our rituals are not separate from our work. They are the foundation of it. Their health, diversity, and resilience make our products possible.
For this reason, we believe sustainability is not a project, a certification, or a marketing claim. It is a responsibility that influences every decision we make.
From the plants we cultivate and gather to the way we formulate, package, and ship our products, we aim to work in a way that honours the landscapes that sustain us.
Rooted in the North
Origin of our ingredients
We believe that responsible care begins with knowing where ingredients come from.
Most of the botanicals used in our products are cultivated in our own garden or carefully gathered from the surrounding Arctic landscape.
Working closely with our ingredients allows us to remain connected to their origins and reduces the distance between plant and product.
Today, 57% of our ingredients are sourced from Finland, including self-harvested botanicals, Finnish berry seed oils, berry powders, colloidal oat powder, and xylitol.
Overall, 97% of our ingredients are sourced from Europe.
Whenever possible, we prioritise local and regional sourcing, choosing suppliers who share our values of transparency, quality, and environmental responsibility.
Cultivating biodiversity
Creating in relationship with nature
Instead of creating rituals from nature, we strive to create rituals in relationship with nature — an approach we call Rituals Rewilded.
We believe that caring for ourselves should never come at the expense of the natural world. Through responsible wildcrafting, regenerative growing practices, wildlife-friendly gardening, and thoughtful sourcing, we aim to support the health and diversity of the ecosystems that inspire our work.
For us, sustainability is not only about reducing harm. It is about fostering a deeper connection between people and nature while helping to protect the landscapes, plants, and wildlife that make our rituals possible.
Responsible wildcrafting
Honoring our pristine nature
When we wildcraft, we do so with care, restraint, and respect for the ecosystems we move within.
Herbs are gathered only from their natural habitats - forests, meadows, and undisturbed land - and always from clean areas far from cities, roads, and industrial activity. We never use pesticides or fertilisers, and harvesting is done by hand.
We take only what nature can spare. By avoiding overharvesting and leaving the majority of plants untouched, we allow wild populations to regenerate naturally and ensure that habitats remain intact for future growth and for wildlife.
Responsible wildcrafting, for us, is about preserving balance, honouring the resilience of wild plants while ensuring they continue to thrive in the landscapes they belong to.
Responsible gardening
Rooted in organic and regenerative practices
Our herbal garden is an essential part of how we create, a place where plants are grown slowly, in rhythm with the seasons.
We believe that healthy soil is the foundation of strong, resilient plants. By caring for the soil and allowing natural processes to guide growth, our botanicals are able to develop their full character from seed to harvest.
Only organic and regenerative practices are used in our garden. We avoid pesticides, herbicides, and synthetic fertilisers, and we harvest with restraint, always leaving plants in the ground to support regeneration and provide ongoing habitat for wildlife.
Making less, making better
Crafted in small batches
We believe thoughtful production is one of the most important aspects of sustainability.
Every Nörre Nordic product is crafted in small batches in our own production space. This allows us to maintain freshness, minimise waste, avoid overproduction, and remain closely connected to every stage of the process.
By focusing on quality rather than volume, we are able to create products designed to be used fully and appreciated over time.
Packaging With Purpose
Thoughtfully Chosen Materials
Our packaging is designed with longevity and responsibility in mind, using materials that are recyclable, compostable, or reusable wherever possible.
Glass bottles are used for our oils, with components that can be separated for proper recycling. Carton boxes are made from FSC-certified cardboard and recycled with paper waste.
Herbal face masks are packaged in birch wood jars, crafted without chemicals and naturally antibacterial. Outer cartons are made from compostable plant fibres containing wheat straw and grass, and labels are produced from grass paper requiring less water and energy to manufacture.
All orders are shipped 100% plastic-free, protected with Finnish wood wool made from local aspen and sealed with certified eco paper tape.
A Philosophy of Slow Beauty
By less, choose well
Sustainability is not only about how products are made. It is also about how they are used.
We believe in buying less and choosing well.
Rather than creating endless products for every possible need, we focus on versatile formulations designed to become lasting parts of everyday rituals.
Slow beauty encourages a more thoughtful relationship with consumption, one built on quality, longevity, and appreciation rather than excess.
Slow beauty is also about how care is practiced. We create rituals designed to invite presence and pause, moments that encourage a gentler, more mindful way of caring for skin, hair, and self.
For us, caring for ourselves and caring for the natural world are not separate ideas. They are part of the same philosophy.
Looking Forward
Sustainability is not a destination we have reached. It is an ongoing process of learning, improving, and making better choices over time.
As Nörre Nordic grows, our commitment remains the same: to create exceptional rituals inspired by Arctic botanicals while respecting the landscapes, ecosystems, and communities that make them possible.
